Stables

Buckholt Stables is within the grounds, and only 50 meters away from Buckholt House. It is 4 miles west of Stockbridge, about 90 minutes drive from West London, or 15 minutes from Grateley Station, one hour and twenty minutes from Waterloo.

The Stables were originally built in the 1820s and were used as stables, general livestock and storage buildings. They were unused for many years, but major renovation work was carried out in 2014 to convert them into accommodation primarily for shooting parties at Buckholt. The stables have also been used for family reunions and parties, as well as by parties of fishermen - the River Test is nearby.

The Stables consist of nine bedrooms, all en-suite. Eight of the rooms have large king size beds while the ninth is a twin room. Four of the double rooms can be made up as twin rooms if preferred. If any further bedrooms are required there are two in the main house that can be used. As well as the bedrooms, there is a boot room, a large sitting room, a small kitchen and a heated boot room.

At the moment large parties use the main house for dining. There is an in-house chef and menus are discussed and agreed upon well in advance. Guests can bring your own wines - there is no corkage charge - or we can supply a variety of wines from our cellar to complement the food. We do not "mark up" our wine.

A kitchen and dining room are being built on to the Lodge ready for the spring of 2019.
